and the gym has rarely been so loud.

Forty projects lined the walls. Grade 4 built water filters from sand, gravel and charcoal,
and tested them on samples from the river. Grade 7 showed off the weather station they
built this fall, which now posts a reading to the school’s front display every ten minutes.

Thank you to the Riverbend Family Association for the snacks, and to every family who came
out on a school night.

Each student adopted a tree and will measure it every season until they graduate. Ask a
fifth grader about their sycamore: they will have a lot to say.

classroom is settling into its routines.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Imani Okafor, who joins the Upper School as our new science
teacher after eight years at the county water lab.

A reminder about mornings: the drop-off line moves fastest when children are ready to hop
out as soon as the car stops. Thank you for your patience while we all relearn the routine.
